Where to find motivation

You won’t find it on a map or in a treasure chest

You won’t find it in the woods

Or over a rainbow

It won’t come to you either

Motivation you find in doing what you don’t have the motivation to start.

Say its going to the gym

You might not be motivated to go

But once your there and the more you keep going the more motivated you’ll find yourself.

Restarting Hurts

Restarting hurts

Restarting takes effort, it takes time to get back into the flow and making it a habit again.

I injured both my ankles during lockdown, I could barely walk let alone exercise so I rested,

Which turned into more resting and more before I knew it a couple of months had passed and I hadn’t done anything

Getting back into the gym hurt, both physically and mentally

I had to break out of the comfort of not going I have to deal with the muscle soreness

Restarting hurts

It’s easier to not quit and keep going

But it’s better than never trying again

It’s better than doing nothing

It hurts but the pain is temperamental

Procrastination will kill you faster than a natural death, I know I’m a master procrastinator,

I put off things for weeks/months, I started editing a book and saw a note I left in it that said its Feb 2020 at the time of editing, 8 months later still not done

I could be in a lot better shape, I could be a lot smarter, I might even still be in a relationship if I did the stuff I knew I should.

We need to snap out of this distraction mentality Because it stops us from living.

Suffering

Suffering

Is what we’re going to face whether we leave the door or not, suffering exists on both sides of it,

Suffering will happen if you go for that job or not,
If you speak to that person or not,
If you workout or not,
If you better your education or not

Suffering is a part of life it will show up if we walk left or right, don’t move at all or just stay on the same path we’re on.

We are going to suffer

So you might as well suffer at something that will make the suffering worthwhile

Example – If choose to workout, you have to suffer through the workout, you have to suffer from the hard work, from the lifestyle changes and the sacrifices you have to make like going to the gym over going straight home and watching the tv.

But through that suffering you get healthier, you feel a lot better, you look better, you have more energy.

If you don’t choose to workout, you get to eat what you want, have those lazy days, don’t have to face the gym, but all that pleasure will lead to suffering,

Your health will start to degrade, you might gain weight, you will lose energy, feel under par most of the time, struggle with concentration and so on…

The To-Do List Is Endless

The to-do list is endless…
But time isn’t

There is so much that we want to do in the short time we have.

Yet we spend most of it working, on our devices and when it comes to doing some if the to dos other than work,

We dont feel like doing them.

So we browse the tv or the social media
To take our mind off the fact that we have so much to do at work the next day,

But with each day we add to our lives we’re also subtracting from it too

So the more we put off doing something that would lift our spirits the less time have to enjoy them if we eventually got round to them.

Time isn’t endless so you might as well do something you might enjoy once in a while rather than put it off.
