To celebrate a simple life

It is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life
-Bilbo Baggins

When you log into social media and you see everybody flexing

New nails, new cars, new homes, new stocks…
Flex, flex, flex

Everybody just trying to level up, stressing when they can’t keep up, Anxious because they haven’t gained anything to flex on lately

They don’t seem to realise that simply going for a walk in nature or picking up a book and sitting in the garden is very pleasurable, They miss out on the simple things, they miss out on the moments because they are chasing moments instead of living them…

Celebrate a simple life
Its a happy life

A day in the life of

Looking back over the years its pretty amazing to see how much one can change

Sometimes that change happens at random through an event or person

Other times its intentional through study, exercise and personal development

A lot of the change over my life was random until the last 3-4 years when I started doing intentional change so this post is a day in the life of how I go about that (in no particular order)

1a &b) Reading and study (sometimes I combine the 2)

This is where a big part of my Personal Development came from, reading books on finance, philosophy, buisness, productivity, health and fitness and everything in between
Or sometimes I just read novels

2) Exercise- do I need to explain the benefits if exercise, feel better, look better, perform better, I exercise often 3-4 times per week

3) walks and dog walks, get out in nature and move often

4) downtime there was a point in my life where it was just work work work l, everyday I never made any time for downtime and I burnt out, got injured and had no social life

So these are just some of the things I do on the daily for intentional change,

What do you do let me know below v

Roma part 3

I found a place to eat last night although wasn’t very hungry so just had a salad and 3 strawberry daiquiris

Man they were strong

I’m also pretty sure that blond girl I fell in love with was in there too

(No I didn’t speak to her)

After becoming very drunk, I romed around the Trevi fountain and then decided to walk to the Spanish steps

Nice view from the top

Then headed on a long walk back to the hotel

Where I had the longest night of my life

Woke up around 2am dehydrated because I didn’t fill my water bottle up like an idiot

So managed to fall back asleep for what felt like hours, checked the time it was 2:10 -.-

Fell back asleep and the same thing happened 2:20 this went on for a good 40 minutes until I remembered I had a red bull in the fridge

Not the best drink to have when you wanna sleep but I thirsty as fuck and it was the most refreshing drink I’ve ever had

Fast forward to the morning i booked the Vatican museum for 11am, regretted that instantly because I wanted to sleep in and it was a long trek

But Vatican city was really nice on the eyes and it killed a good 3 hours, plenty to see

And the sistine chapel was pretty cool at the fact someone painted it, the actual thing didn’t really have a wow effect on me to be honest

After Vatican city I found a place with a view of all rome, so I thought it would be a good idea to walk there

After a long trek and walking up a windy road with no footpath I made it

The view was worth it but I was fucked by this point and about an hour or 2 away from my hotel

I rushed back because I was supposed to be going to a meet up event at 8

But stumbled across piazza del Popolo and a park which had another amazing view

After walking for what felt a lifetime I crashed on the sofa at the hotel and checked the details of this event

715 pm and an hour and a half away, damn I misread the details and could of casually strolled back and enjoyed more of the scenery

Now I’m debating what to do, I can barely walk and have no idea where or what to eat

I wanna be around people so I’m thinking Trevi again but I’m not sure I can walk that far

I’m also debating what to do tomorrow as I feel like I’ve done all I can over my past 2 trips so anyone got any tips for a solo traveller

Take A Walk

We ought to take outdoor walks, to refresh and raise our spirits by deep breathing in the open air. – Seneca

If there is one solution for many things…

It’s walking, The same was true for the philosophers 2000 years ago (Like Seneca) as it is today…

When we’re stressed, overwhelmed – take a walk.

Stuck on a problem – Go for a walk

Want some space and time to think – Go for a walk

Want to be active…take a walk…

Fancy a walk… go for a walk

In our busy day to day lives, walking gives the time to think, get some open air, away from all the noise, generate new thoughts and relax.

We don’t often get that in our office blocks and busy cities.

Turn your phone off &

Take a walk
