Here & Now

Your pain is in the past
Your worries in the future,
Neither of them exist in the here and now

The future is imaginary, its filled with things we cannot see,
Yet thinking about this it does not allow us to be In the here and now

Your pain is in the past,
The rain never lasts
We cannot change the past
Yet we put so much strain on the brain
Thinking what would of happened if we did things a different way, thinking of things we didn’t say,
But the past has happened and that lead the way too
All that matters… the here and the now

Stop the chatter, just let it go
Otherwise you’ll never know
What it’s like to live in the here and the now

Your mind is making you blind, its grinding you down and making you frown over something that hasn’t even happened yet,

Your pain is in the past
Your worries in the future,
Neither of them exist right here in the now

Old and New Can’t Live Together.

Old and New Can’t Live Together.

Ok this isn’t entirely true, if you go to Rome you’ll see ancient history blended into modern-day living and it makes one beautiful city (I think I’ve never been) Old and new clearly can live together there.

However…

When it comes to me and you

Old cannot live with the New.

The old way of doing things and a new way of thinking that is.

You want to achieve that big goal. That requires a new way of thinking.

But thinking alone can’t change anything…

So you have to change the way you do things too,

You can’t want to lose weight, but still, do the things that made you gain the weight in the first place.

You can’t get rich by doing the stuff that got you broke…

Do you want change?

The old way has to be evicted.

“The Pain of Discipline is far less than the pain of regret.”

“The Pain of Discipline is far less than the pain of regret.”

The side effect conundrum…

If you hate exercising and you stop, You will probably have a better day

If you hate saving money, you will most likely have a better day when you spend that money on something that makes you feel better…

If instead of following your diet plan you binge out on sweets and whatever you will most likely feel better…

Feel better In the short run, Until the side effects kick in.

And suddenly the doctors told us we have a heart problem, or we need some money but we spent it all on some crap we don’t need…

Then we wonder ‘If only I dealt with the side effects of a little discipline’

When it all could have been avoided by going through an hour a day of discomfort, 10-20% of your wages stashed away… Whatever it is…

Put up with the short term side effects of discipline
Or live with the long term effects of being undisciplined

Too much of a good thing

Too much of a good thing and you become blind about it – Maxime Lagacé

Too much of anything we perceive to be good eventually will become bad.

Too much exercise – We risk overtraining, under-recovering, and risk getting injured

Too much alcohol – The enjoyment of the night, control over yourself and the fun for others gets ruined…

too much of your favourite dessert will become sickly

Even too much sex will eventually stop becoming pleasurable and you lose that connection with your partner…

It’s important today that no matter how motivated you are, how much you want to succeed you take the time to recover from your ‘good thing’

Before you get blinded by it.

No person is your friend

‘No person is your friend who demands your silence, or denies your right to grow.’ Alice Walker⠀

Something happens to the people around you when you start to make a difference in your life,⠀

Especially in your close circle …⠀

The people will either support you or They will try and discourage you, Mock and Laugh at what you’re doing and then try and pull you back into your old ways and habits…⠀

The latter are assholes… But it’s not entirely there fault,⠀
