And the fall will be painful…

Eventually, the time that was not spent on learning skills will catch up with you, and the fall will be painful. Robert Greene

There was this one time not so long ago when an old work colleague, Saw me reading,

He was like “ah I’ve never really got into that” (reading) and then spent the next hour’s car journey playing some candy crush game on his phone…

A couple of weeks later after mismanagement from the company messing up the rota we were threatened with disciplinary if we didn’t come in on the Saturday because they were short-staffed.

I refused but my colleague went in.

The difference, I could afford to get fired, Simply by putting into practice the knowledge and skills I’ve learnt over the years from what I’ve read.

Even if you don’t want to be like me and have multiple companies you can still learn skills that will make you a better (unsackable) employee.

Linchpin by Seth Godin – Would be a good place to start.

The world is unpredictable, shit happens but the skills you learn, You’ve got them till you die…

Use your time wisely

Hack away at the unessential

“It’s not the daily increase but daily decrease. Hack away at the unessential.” – Bruce Lee

The first step to financial freedom isn’t earning more money, Its spending less

The same is true for good health – Hack away at the unessential.

The unessential amount of tv, the unessential amount of snacks and junk, Alchohol…

You will find the two go hand in hand, the less you spend on things you don’t need, The more money and time you will have to spend on actually living.

Life is never stagnation.

“Life is never stagnation. It is constant movement, un-rhythmic movement, as we as constant change. Things live by moving and gain strength as they go.” – Bruce Lee

Like water, if we stop flowing we become stagnant.

We need to move, not just in a physical sense but mentally too.

We need to grow and change, we need to crash against the rocks and squeeze through the little gaps from time to time.

No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man – Heraclitus

Even if nothing in your life changed and you stepped in the river, you may be the same person, but the river wouldn’t be the same that moved on a long time ago.

Flow like water.

No.

No.

You and I are incomplete people.

To become compleat we have to try new experiences, say something, go somewhere different…

Why…

New situations activate genes and these genes activate proteins that build new structures in the brain

So doing the same things over and over again we never activate these genes and remain incomplete

The more we do the same things over and over the harder, it is for us to try/say/do new things.

Like saying No for instance.

The more you say yes the harder it is for you say no, Like when your boss asks you to work overtime and you know you don’t want to…

But you say yes anyway, the next time your boss asks you, the chances are you’re going to say yes again.

And by the time your boss asks you to do something ridicules like working 40 hours for free… Your brain isn’t structured to say no.

The same is true when you’ve just joined the gym but your friends are asking you to go out again, you really don’t want too… What do you say?

Rebuild your brain
So you can rebuild yourself.

What you do today, Fuels Tomorrow

What you do today, Fuels Tomorrow

Or Burns it.

Today you might be tired, may have slept in and are just fueling yourself on coffee,

Today you will make decisions that will ripple throughout the rest of your life.

In your current mood and energy state are these decisions going to be the best for your future or are they going to burn you into deep holes that you will struggle to get out of?

Want the best possible future, You need to fuel it properly today
