Sheeple (Another Airport Story)

I’m stood waiting for Robyn near the boarding queue (At the Airport),

Far enough away so I’m not in the queue but close enough to see if the queue starts to get busy and I can jump in…

After about ten minutes, I glance up from my phone as I hear in some angry voice…

‘Are You Priority boarding mate!’

Me – ‘Yeah’

Angry Dude ‘So why the f*ck have you just let them push in front of you’

Me – ‘I’m not actually stood in a queue, I was just standing here…’

The angry dude then proceeds to shout at the people with common sense who actually went to the start of the queue and sent them to the back and I became the queue leader…

How does this relate to you…

Don’t blindly follow (or in this case stand behind someone) because you think they are the ‘leader’

Sheep flock to the leader and by leader I mean the first sheep to move…

Just because someone has invested in something or started an ultra juice detox…

Does not mean you have to follow, That path might be right for them (Or maybe not)…

But it might be the wrong place for you to start…

And they (& you) might end up going nowhere

Don’t follow the ‘Leader’

Don’t be a sheep,

Always check the details

Watch Your Own Lane

The flight had just landed,

After a 40 minute delay we were eager to get out of the airport and get to our hotel..

As we’re rushing to the exit, We’re faced with lots of downward slopes and those floor escalators…

The race was on…

Overtaking all the slow people, weving in and out of suitecases like mariokart airport edition…

we come off the second to last speed boost, round a corner and there was the finish line in sight…

With two speed boosts next to each other…

We’re now neck and neck

Staring at each other untill suddenly Robyn smirks…

I Glance forward to find a large group blocking my speed boost, like there on a leasierly cruise…

Robyn took the lead and I lost the race…

Why, Because I was too busy trying to win I didn’t plan ahead,

The large group would have been visible before I chose that lane but I wasn’t looking

And brought my progress to a standstill.

This happens all the time in life,

We’re to busy trying to get a result, trying to keep up with the Jones’s

We miss the obvious obstruction ahead…

Crash dieting – Rapid weight gain
Over training – Injury
Keeping up with the jones’s – Redunency, market crash, intrest rate raises…

The moral is to focus on your own lane, Check the details and plan for the long game…

Not the quick win

When your body is weak as fuck

Your mind is unclear… When your body is weak as fuck – Garret J White.

Whilst people are on holiday they tend to feel more energised and refreshed…

They get back to reality and feel like they need another one…

They become sluggish again, stressed and soon their minds become clogged and all they think about is coffee, the weekend, sleep and another holiday to feel good again…

It’s not the holiday that made you feel good, Its what you did whilst away…

The chances are you woke up early, did lots of walking, ate some locally sourced foods had a laugh and slept well…

You don’t need a vacation to do those things, You need a decision,

A decision to look after your body, daily…

Go for a walk, eat well, whatever it is, Do it daily … Not just 2 out of 52 weeks a year…

Which person are you becoming?

We never stay the same,

We’re always growing…

Growing into the person you’ve always wanted to be…

Or growing into the person your trying to escape…

How do you see yourself – Who do you want to become?

Now, look at your last week, your plans for the next…

Are your actions pushing you into that person, or are they pulling you further away…

Not all growth is good

Don’t wait for permission…

If you’re waiting for permission, your letting that person control your life…

If you want to diet then diet…
If you want to open up an e-commerce store then do it…

Don’t wait for your friends to join the gym, or for someone to tell you its a good idea,

It’s not going to happen,

If you want big things to happen in your life, you have to be willing to travel alone.
