Small hinges open big doors.
Small actions create big changes
Yet we never focus on the small actions or small hinges.
We wanna do it big
We want to go all out
We want the over night success
Yet that normally leaves us overwhelmed and quitting after 2 weeks
When we haven’t become a crypto millionaire or lost 10 years of bad habits over 2 weeks
But the small actions over time lead to big results, lasting results
Results that we could never achieve with the random acts of bigness
Where in your life can you go small to do big
It’s the tiny improvements that make all the difference.
I’ve spent the last 10 years doing something in the fitness industry,
Fitness instructing, personal training, writing and running a fitness company…
In those 10 years and they will continue on for a long time is that I’ve noticed that people don’t want tiny gains.
They want it all
And they want it fast.
And it’s the same with money and goals and everything we do.
We want results now.
So we do drastic shit to get those results.
But they never work or at least not for long…
Back to fat loss or muscle gain…
People will cut out Calories and practically starve themselves whilst spending hours on a treadmill to lose weight fast
Even though they have tried it millions of times in the past and got the same results
Small amounts of weight loss and a whole lot of misery followed by weight regain
Whereas if they had followed a sustainable pan over the year they could have felt and looked great by the end of it.
Fast progress comes at a cost.
Tiny improvements over time, may not tell a great story,
But at least you’ll finish it.
Show up and contribute
That’s how we gain traction and progress.
Show up and contribute to your body every day by choosing to exercise and eat healthier (or contribute to developing an unhealthy one it works both ways)
Show up and contribute to your partner, to your business, to your blog…
I had something like 50 views in my first year of blogging, 2nd year 400 the 3rd over 2000 then last year I hadn’t published anything for like 5-6 months on the site, I was publishing elsewhere but I had something like 4000 views…
All from the contribution from the years before and they’ll hopefully continue to grow the more I contribute
It’s like when you was superfit in high school or college,
You could run for days, play sports etc, then go eat a McDonald’s and chug alcohol…
These habits persist on when the training stops and all those years of unhealthy eating add up when you get older.
Whatever you want traction on show up and contribute to it.
How much does it take to change?
They say, people don’t change
Or that it’s hard to change…
But I disagree.
It doesn’t take alot to change.
Change can happen from the smallest things.
Maybe something someone said that clicked with you.
Or a book.
I know many peoples lives had changed simply from reading a book.
And they have completely changed there lives around.
It doesn’t take a lot to change.
It just requires doing something different
They’re All The Same.
You here that a lot right?
You’ve probably even said it a lot…
Its always them, Everyone else is the problem, Always them and never us.
But if between every interaction, relationship or whatever it is are all the same, Lets use relationships for example…
If all Men or Women are the same and the only thing in common with each relationship is You.
YOU that is the problem.
If all women are crazy… Then its probably you that is.
If the same patterns keep showing up, time and time again it is You that is the problem.
Do you see the pattern.
It was never them.
Its us that need to change.
