Get yourself some experience now

All a writer really has is experience
If you intend to write, start to get yourself some experience now

-Michael Baldwin

I get asked how I come up with content every day, I read a lot and I’m human so I have experiences

Experience, no matter what craft your in, helps you become better, even if the experience isn’t related

Experience can always be translated to something else and the lessons extracted

Whatever your craft, get some life experience

When it’s not on your doorstep

When it’s not on your doorstep

What do you do?

Do you wait until another event rolls around closer to you or do you travel the distance.

I’ve been to several events 100s of miles away from where I live, long train or coach journeys, hotels etc.

At the same time in Facebook groups I see people asking will this event be in X place or y place…

Because they don’t want to travel.

Yet even if it was on there doorstep, would they go?

I don’t know… but the question is if its really worth something to you

How far are you willing to go?

Motivation is not your friend.

Motivation is not your friend.

If you only wait for motivation to get going then you won’t get very far.

You are never going to find enough motivation to start something completely new,

And if you do it will be hard to get it to stick around once it does show up.

Motivation isn’t a very good freind.

It’s like the one friend who appears after all the chaos has ended and the waters have settled

Don’t rely on that friend

You can’t know

You can’t know if your going to enjoy an experience until you experience it.

Seth Godin

You can’t know

And we talk ourselves out of doing things we think we won’t enjoy, yet we dont truly know we wouldn’t until we tried

Some of my best experiences were doing things I didn’t want to do

Some of my best achievements I almost talked myself out of doing

Why because of some little voice in our heads?

Just try something new

You might love it, you might not

Who knows
