When it’s not on your doorstep

When it’s not on your doorstep

What do you do?

Do you wait until another event rolls around closer to you or do you travel the distance.

I’ve been to several events 100s of miles away from where I live, long train or coach journeys, hotels etc.

At the same time in Facebook groups I see people asking will this event be in X place or y place…

Because they don’t want to travel.

Yet even if it was on there doorstep, would they go?

I don’t know… but the question is if its really worth something to you

How far are you willing to go?

Motivation is not your friend.

Motivation is not your friend.

If you only wait for motivation to get going then you won’t get very far.

You are never going to find enough motivation to start something completely new,

And if you do it will be hard to get it to stick around once it does show up.

Motivation isn’t a very good freind.

It’s like the one friend who appears after all the chaos has ended and the waters have settled

Don’t rely on that friend

Or Lose The Chance

Take The Risk, Or Lose The Chance

Is a quote I see in the entrepreneur world, All over Instagram and the likes…

It implies that you need to make quick decisions and snap up whatever is in front of you right away. It makes you think that if I wait then I’m going to lose this opportunity and there will be no more.

It also rushes you into making the decision and not truly thinking through whether it is actually an opportunity or not.

Sometimes the risk you need to take is to wait.

That’s right wait, instead of snapping up the first thing that comes along.

Wait and the opportunity will arise.

Rush and what you thought was an opportunity was actually disaster in disguise.

Skies on Fire

The skies on fire
Its smoky and red
If we carry on we’re gonna be dead
The skies on fire, we’ve nothing left to burn and yet so much to learn

But it may be to late, the fire is too great
It’s only getting higher,
We’ve burnt the trees, theres no more bees, all this to squeeze that last little bit of profit, now it’s too late the fire is too great

We’ve so much to learn and yet we still burn, theres no trees left soon itlle be our turn

I think we’ve passed the point of no return, the skies on fire whoever said that we were fine was such a lier, sat in their ivory tower, counting their cash but now their is nowhere to dash

The sky is on fire
We’ve nothing left to burn,
Yet so much to learn
We’ve nothing left to burn
And now it’s our turn

Improvisation

I had a cool idea for a post today, but then I forgot what is was, so now I’m just kind of improvising as I go,

Because sometimes we can just sit and think too much and get nothing done whilst waiting for a bit of inspiration

Or we can just start something, good or bad it doesn’t matter because it will get the juices flowing and something good may come of it

What stands In the way becomes the way as Marcus Aurelius would say

It’s a bit like when your feeling anxious about something, say a job Interview,

Well during the interview your not anxious because your there in the present but worrying about is in the future

So action helps stop anxiety

We can think or we can do
We can worry or we can take action
We can let obstacles stop us, or we can use them to drive us forward
