We don’t get to choose them

We don’t get to choose them

Our last words that is,

Death is inevitable, we know this.

But when and how we go we don’t know.

We all imagine or just me that we will have some heroic death and everyone around us will have some wise words passed on… our last ones.

But the chances of this happening are slim.

Roald Dahls last words were something sweet to his wife, until a nurse gave him some morphine and he uttered ‘Oh fuck’

The point is we dont get to choose how we go or what our last words will be,

So make sure you perform your duties heroically, make sure that you dont utter something stupid without thought or something you will regret.

Because we never know they could be our last

Until death, it is all life

Until death, it is all life

Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra

And it’s not always going to be plain sailing,
There is going to be stormy seas
Rough currents
And high rocks to navigate through

We may get a few calm seas and clear skies

But life is a mixture of all the above.

Facing the tough currents, stormy seas and rocky patches mean your living and you may think that they are bad things, but as we sail through life, they are the things that improve your sailing skills, not the calm seas.

We do not receive a life that is short

We do not receive a life that is short, but rather we make it so

Seneca

We make life short by being bored with the present and looking to future pleasures,

Wishing we could leap over the days that stand in between

2500 years ago this may have been the gladiator games, today football

Nothing has really changed.

We give our time freely to others, without taking time out for ourselves

And find that those days we couldn’t wait to arrive are gone faster than they came

And we lose days thinking to the pleasures of the night, and we lose the night dreading the day.

Over time when we look back, we realise that we have freely thrown the time given to us away and spent only little of it living or on ourselves.

Life is not short, our actions make it so.

Crying your hear out

Cause all of the stars
Are fading away
Just try not to worry
You’ll see them some day
Take what you need
And be on your way
And stop crying your heart out

Just try not to worry
I’m one with the stars
I’ve been
And now I’ve gone
So be on your way
Life goes on
There isn’t much more to say

My time wasn’t cut short
My time was just right
I lived a good life
Now I’m one with the stars
I’m immortalized in time

Why would you cry your heart out
Move on, that ain’t the way to live
Just because I’ve faded away
From the life you know
Remember I got to follow lifes flow
Now I’m one with the stars
Immortalized in time

We’re all of us stars
We’re fading away
Just try not to worry
You’ll see us some day
Just take what you need
And be on your way
And stop crying your heart out

Characters in a play

We all just characters in a play
We have our roles to play
Just acting out each day
Hoping we see another day

But our role is not guaranteed
Our contract might not get renewed
Once the curtain is called
We leave an empty stage for our permanent retirement

Let us act out each day
As if it was our last performance
Because we’re only as good as our last dance
So lete not get stage fright
So we can take our character to new heights
So when the curtain finally gets called
We can call it good night And peacfully retire.
Knowing we performed our hearts out and did our character right

We all just characters in a play
We have our roles to play
Just acting out each day
Hoping we see another day
