Ideas come from nowhere

There is no Idea Dump, no Story Central, no Island of the Buried Bestsellers

Stephen King

In his book about ‘on writing’ he says that ideas just come out of nowhere, sometimes it’s two ideas put together

And our job is to recognise them when they do appear, not to go out looking for them

This is true not just In writing but in any idea we have

They say the best nights out are the random ones that just happened out of an idea not pre planned

My best posts (based on likes and my blog stats) are the ones that just sort of happened, where as my well thought out ones most of the time are greeted with nothing.

Ideas generally come when we least expect them, like in the shower or whilst driving (the amount of ideas I’ve had and forgotten whilst driving because I couldn’t write them down is frustrating)

Stop trying to be creative and just let the process happen

But when it does be ready to recognise and catch it

Like the guy who created the flaming hot cheetos he just happened to dip his cheetos into some chilli powder (I think) whilst on his day job

Random idea dudes quite rich now

Cheesecake is Life

Cheesecake is life
Every day a bite
Delicious or sickly
I could eat this all night

Every bite a day
Sometimes it’s just scrumptious
Sometimes it’s a bit tangy
Sometimes its riche
And sometimes its sickly

Yet tangy or sickly
Scrumptious or rich
Its cheesecake
Regardless its delicious

Sometimes you bite off more than you can chew
Sometimes you barely take a bite and let it go to waist
Sometimes you just have the amount that would satisfy goldilocks
Just right

Cheesecake is life
Every day a bite
Delicious or sickly
I could eat this all night

They say you can’t have your cake and eat it too
But cheesecake is beautiful
And I’m taking a bite

Once my spoon comes dry
I will not cry
Because I had my cake
And I ate it too
Cheesecake is beautiful
And life is too

In Between Time

We book a holiday and all we do is look forward to it,

We imagine ourselves sat on a beach with a cocktail, or seeing a world famous site whilst we go about our boring daily lives

We get excited about going to a party or a meal with so and so and once again this consumes our mind

But the time in between planning the thing and actually doing the thing matters just as much

Yeah you may be looking forward to your holiday or whatever but are you not equally looking forward to another day.

Instead of daydreaming about what you could be doing in 2 weeks time you could be enjoying the taste of your food or the sites around you

The things we do in between are the important stuff because they take up the majority of our lives and to be honest they’re pretty amazing if you learn to appreciate them

“A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral.”

“A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral.”

The Little Prince

Remember this when someone puts your dreams and goals down,

When they say you can’t or it can’t be done…

They can’t see what you see

They don’t see the gold medals, they don’t see the we’re open sign, They just see the rock pile.

Stay focused on what you see and let them worry about what they can or cannot see.
