How much does it take to change?

How much does it take to change?

They say, people don’t change
Or that it’s hard to change…

But I disagree.
It doesn’t take alot to change.

Change can happen from the smallest things.

Maybe something someone said that clicked with you.

Or a book.

I know many peoples lives had changed simply from reading a book.

And they have completely changed there lives around.

It doesn’t take a lot to change.

It just requires doing something different

New beginnings

2020 books read

I feel like this is all I’ve got to show for 2020, this and the sudden readership growth…

Yeah it was a terrible year for all of us, alot out of our control…

But its the things in my control that bother me,

More specifically the things I didn’t do.
The things I could have done more on, the things i could of practiced more…

Like philosophy in these hard times, in stead of letting the times grind me down.

But I can’t change the past, I can only look back and learn from it, so no dwelling on the shoulda, woulda, could have…

Let’s focus on new beginnings.

Thank you people

Switch Off

You Have To Know When To Switch Off

We all know what its like to get hooked on something great, Like a series, or a videogame, Maybe a book or research papers, whatever it is yours into.

We all know then what it’s like when we can’t turn them off.

What was once a pleasure becomes a burden.

We need to watch one more episode, do one more mission, turn one more page,

Before we know it its 3 am, we have to be up in a few hours and we’re struggling to switch off the tv and our brains.

We need to have the discipline to switch off before it gets to that stage.

So that we can still enjoy whatever the pleasure and still function as normal humans in the real world too.

Switch off, so you can stay switched on.

And you must drink from it, like it or not

And you must drink from it, like it or not

George RR Martin

Sometimes we have to take responsibility for things we shouldn’t have to do,

Maybe it was someone else’s task, but they failed or got sick or something,

The cup gets passed to us

Regardless of whether we want it not, we have to step up to the plate and take responsibility

Whether that’s acting team leader or stacking shelves, becoming head of household

We can sit and cry about it which won’t change anything or we can step up do our best and make the most out of a bad situation

We can’t control the future but we can control how we respond to it

The full dialogue from GOT (book I’ve not seen the show)

“Brandon. Yes. Brandon would know what to do. He always did. It was all meant for Brandon. You, Winterfell, everything. He was born to be a King’s Hand and a father to queens. I never asked for this cup to pass to me.”

“Perhaps not,” Catelyn said, “but Brandon is dead, and the cup has passed, and you must drink from it, like it or not.”
