The disappointment when you wake up on new years day to find that you are not a new you…
You are still the same version of yourself that you were
See change requires work
And work is hard
It doesn’t start on a Monday or a new year
It starts today, it starts now
And it’s a hard process
You either do the work or you stop lying to yourself
Be more like cat, Be more like dog
Be more like cat, cats don’t do anything they don’t want to, it can be cuddling you one minute and as soon as its had enough it will walk off and stare out of a window or something
Cats don’t waist time doing things they don’t want nor do they give a fuck what you think
Dogs enjoy the little things in life, no matter the time, day or weather, give them a ball and they’ll play all day, just enjoying the moment
We should be more like cats and dogs, getting shit done and not worrying about what others think of us and then taking time out to enjoy the moments and having some playtime
Death twitches my ear
‘Live’ she says
– paths of meaning
Chasing a paycheck, constantly checking our stocks, or emails, worrying about some unimportant things…
We forget to enjoy ourselves, We forget to live.
With each day that passes by death creeps closer, but we push Lee further back until we have achieved somthing or paid of this or done that,
No matter what goes on in life there are always small moments to enjoy
Death twitches closer.
Comfort is the enemy
When Cole was talking about how he didn’t become a professional basketball player he said that it was because he wasn’t putting in the work,
He said he was playing ball every day, but he wasn’t working with coaches and practicing drills, he was pretending to do something…
Then when his friends pointed out that he was doing the same thing with his rap career
He was like oh shit and it woke him up that he was just working in his comfort zone
So he would write a song or a verse and make a beat before he went to the studio.
He would do 7 minute drills where for 7 minutes he would write.
Comfort is the enemy, comfort cost him his basketball career and almost cost him his rap one too
Do the work
None of us know why we want to write, or not at the beginning.
But once the determination takes hold we have to do it.
– Michael Baldwin
Not just with writing, but anything in life, we often have urges to do somthing that we never would have thought of doing,
We don’t know why we got the urge, but it doesn’t matter anymore
The determination has taken over we have to follow through our it will eat away at us, plague us until we do
Has some determination taken over you?
Destiny may be calling you, what are you waiting for?
