It’s one thing to put bread and wine away in a store room and another to eat them
Epictetus makes the point that eating bread and wine gets used and absorbed by the body whereas just leaving on the shelves does nothing until eaten and compares it to philosophy (and other studies)
What is the point in study if all you are going to leave what you learnt on the shelves to gather dust
When we study or even get an insite from a film or book we must use it and embody it
Otherwise what’s the point
To say you know something and maybe impress someone
When we embody something we have learnt we improve our lives and the time we spent studying was not wasted
Embody your studies
Comfort is the enemy
When Cole was talking about how he didn’t become a professional basketball player he said that it was because he wasn’t putting in the work,
He said he was playing ball every day, but he wasn’t working with coaches and practicing drills, he was pretending to do something…
Then when his friends pointed out that he was doing the same thing with his rap career
He was like oh shit and it woke him up that he was just working in his comfort zone
So he would write a song or a verse and make a beat before he went to the studio.
He would do 7 minute drills where for 7 minutes he would write.
Comfort is the enemy, comfort cost him his basketball career and almost cost him his rap one too
Do the work
None of us know why we want to write, or not at the beginning.
But once the determination takes hold we have to do it.

Not just with writing, but anything in life, we often have urges to do somthing that we never would have thought of doing,
We don’t know why we got the urge, but it doesn’t matter anymore
The determination has taken over we have to follow through our it will eat away at us, plague us until we do

I think if people followed the Danish advice on this one history would have been very boring
Let’s look at this from a fitness point of view
If you only ran as far as you knew you could run back then your fitness would never improve because you wouldn’t up the distance
Or you would never attempt a personal best in lifting in case you wouldn’t be able to complete the lift
In life you would never take risks in case you failed
I’m sorry Danish people but sometimes you have to risks
What to do when your tired…
Well that depends really…
Are you a little tired or exhausted
If your a little tired and find yourself always skipping your routine and breaking your habits
Then you just lack dicipline
After all there is always going to be days when we didn’t sleep as well as we would like or just worked a little to hard
We cannot let a little tiredness stop us from doing what needs to be done
However if we are exhausted then we need to rest because pushing through exhaustion is just a ticket to injury, illness and sometimes even death
But most of the time your probably just a little tired
So get working on that dicipline
