Ideas come from nowhere

There is no Idea Dump, no Story Central, no Island of the Buried Bestsellers

Stephen King

In his book about ‘on writing’ he says that ideas just come out of nowhere, sometimes it’s two ideas put together

And our job is to recognise them when they do appear, not to go out looking for them

This is true not just In writing but in any idea we have

They say the best nights out are the random ones that just happened out of an idea not pre planned

My best posts (based on likes and my blog stats) are the ones that just sort of happened, where as my well thought out ones most of the time are greeted with nothing.

Ideas generally come when we least expect them, like in the shower or whilst driving (the amount of ideas I’ve had and forgotten whilst driving because I couldn’t write them down is frustrating)

Stop trying to be creative and just let the process happen

But when it does be ready to recognise and catch it

Like the guy who created the flaming hot cheetos he just happened to dip his cheetos into some chilli powder (I think) whilst on his day job

Random idea dudes quite rich now

It must end

One of the laws of travel, laws of the kingdom is it must end

Fred Bryant

One of the laws of anything and everything is that it must end

But endings aren’t bad, they are quite magical really

Without an ending we wouldn’t appreciate anything

We would just take them for granted

Endings are the start of new beginnings, like a new career at the end of a university degree or a bad job

Endings are a blessing at the end of a hard workout

Endings mean that something happened
Even at the end of life, we got there because we had a beginning.

The Gap Method

One of the easiest ways to truly get to know someone is to get in a car with them

How to they behave on the road,

Jade Teta calls it ‘The gap method’ (or something like that)

Do they let other drivers merge or do they close the gap so that they can get a little further ahead

Do they shout and swear at other drivers for holding them up, start tailgating and acting like an utter asshole

There’s a good indicator that these behaviours would show up somewhere else in there life

Imagine if your walking down the street with this person and someone walks in front of them and they get right up behind the Walker and start swearing at them

It’s not acceptable on the street, it’s not acceptable in a car

If someone’s not willing to help another driver and let them merge because it may hold them up by 10 seconds

Then are they going to help another progress at work or help you somewhere in your life at the risk of holding themselves up

Probably not

I used to be the road raging asshole, I always ended up stopped at the same traffic lights.

Help one and another

Life begins when

Life doesn’t happen when you dropped those last few pounds

That’s not when you start to live

Life doesn’t happen when you get that promotion

That’s also not when you start to live

Life doesn’t happen when you get the grades you want, get excepted into the university you want, get the degree you want,

You don’t start to live after you have achieved something,

Life doesn’t begin when your earning x amount, or look a certain way or have some letters after your name

Life happens daily, before during and after you get those things

Life can be awesome, but your missing it because you think it starts once you retireā€¦

We do not receive a life that is short

We do not receive a life that is short, but rather we make it so

Seneca

We make life short by being bored with the present and looking to future pleasures,

Wishing we could leap over the days that stand in between

2500 years ago this may have been the gladiator games, today football

Nothing has really changed.

We give our time freely to others, without taking time out for ourselves

And find that those days we couldn’t wait to arrive are gone faster than they came

And we lose days thinking to the pleasures of the night, and we lose the night dreading the day.

Over time when we look back, we realise that we have freely thrown the time given to us away and spent only little of it living or on ourselves.

Life is not short, our actions make it so.
