Motivation… Is weak

External motivation is weak.

Because it relies on something or someone else.

I remember the late nights watching rocky 4 for like the 100th time,

I used to get so motivated and want to run for miles…

But in the late morning or afternoon whenever I woke

That motivation was gone.

And the exercise never got done.

Then I would watch rocky again

And the same feeling and the process continued.

This is what happens when we rely on outside sources for our motivation.

Its doesn’t come from within so it’s not strong to sustain our habits.

I would argue that motivation is weak itself…

Even if it comes from within…

What should we rely on then?

Discipline.

Don’t feel like doing something, you do it anyway

Discipline feels like your worst enemy
It makes you do things you hate

But it has your best interests at heart

Exercise,nutrition,work…

If your disciplined

You wont need motivation, but your results in life will compound

And you will realise that discipline is your best friend

  1. This is very true. True progress comes from realising that you’ll never feel like doing whatever you need to do, which is why discipline does indeed equal freedom. Thanks for this post!
