Patience is a Virtue
Pericles when leading Athens against the Spartans over peace treaty disagreements, told the Athenians to be patient and not rush into battle with the Spartans.
They will use all their money and supplies whilst waiting for battle, while we can use our navy to cut off their supplies and keep us supplied.
This plan was working however the Athenians were becoming impatient and when Pericles died of the plague, The Athenians went into battle.
Back and forth with the Spartans they went gain the upper hand and then losing it. One side would recover and hen the next.
This went on for years.
Until eventually, the Spartans defeated the Athenians forcing them to sign the peace treaty.
Sometimes when we want to rush ahead, the best thing we can do is sit back and wait it out.
This is hard to do when everybody wants to charge, It takes a lot to go against the grain.
But sometimes doing nothing, Is doing the most.
