Nobody’s Self Made…

Nobodys Self Made…

We all got to where we are today, Thanks to the help of others…

The richest people in the world have mentors and investors,

The leanest people in the world have coaches and training partners,

The school teachers that spotted your talents, Even the ones who didn’t they still helped you…

Your parents and guardians, Your best friends that push you no matter what,

Look around you there are so many people that have helped you get to where you are today,

If you feel like your going/ Or have to go through this alone, Your not and you don’t…

We’re stronger together…

On the contrary, though, You can have the whole world supporting and believing in you, but you won’t get anywhere if you don’t do the work…

Your Urges Will Disappoint You…

Your Urges Will Disappoint You…

We all get urges and cravings, We try to resist them but we normally cave in, Then we are filled with guilt and feel we let ourselves down…

And for what? A little bit of pleasure that will disappear as soon as you touch it…

I had this sudden urge to play some Ps4, I had shit to do but I caved in, After about half an hour I became board…

Which is just like every other urge out there isn’t it…

You save up for ages but get the urge to just blow it on that sale, you feel great for a minute then the satisfaction goes, Leaving you with an empty account and some stuff you didn’t really want in the first place…

You’ve been progressing really well on your diet to get the urge to blow it on some millies cookies at the Trafford centre… To be left with the feeling of sickness after you’ve eaten them…

Next time you get an urge, ask yourself is it worth all the hard work you’ve done to give in to temptation now?

The answer is probably not…

If you only do what you can do, you will never be more than you are now

If you only do what you can do, you will never be more than you are now. Master Shifu (Kung Fu Panda)

If you look around and observe the people around you, you can notice their limits, You can see it in their unsatisfied faces,

They’ve become bored, they’ve settled and now every day repeats itself because nothing challenges them any more…

But this isn’t about them, This is about you…

Do you wake up in the morning raring to go or is it sigh another monday,

Are you growing, are you being challenged or are you doing the same old thing again?

The question is where is your limit?

How do you know you’ve reached it if you’ve just settled for what you’re doing now…

Would you be happy never being more than what you are now?

If not you need to do something about that…

and fast because we don’t have a lot of time on this visit to earth.

To say you don’t have time, Is to say you don’t want to

To say you don’t have time, Is to say you don’t want to*

‘Yeah I don’t have time for that’

We’ve all said it, People say it to me all the time and I have definitely said it several times…

We say it because we don’t want to do the thing we’re referring too…
Because we find the time to watch tv for hours on end, Find time to go out with our friends, To go shopping or whatever…

But the gym, Reading that book, Starting that business [Insert some important shit you need to do here]… Yeah, we don’t have time for that…

Its a lie we tell other people and ourselves so that we can get out of doing something we don’t want to do…

I’ll break down my lie here about exercising…

‘Hows the training going Roy’

What training?

‘Your not training?’

No I don’t have time to come all the way down here (Titan) I have to catch a bus, then a train, then walk to the gym, Then I have to do the workout and then get home again, by the time I’ve done all of that I’ve lost a whole day…

And whilst the last part is true, it would take a hell of a chunk out of my day…

There are several gyms in my area two walking or a very short bus journey away…

The truth was that I was scared of fucking my already fucked back up again and I really couldn’t be arsed because I had gotten lazy

And after breaking down my lie and exposing this truth I have finally done something about it…

The moral is if it’s important to you stop lying to yourself about why you’re not doing it and do something about it…

Or

If you really don’t want to do it because you don’t value it then just tell yourself that and take the burden off your chest and do something you do value

*I can’t remember who I’m quoting

Do you even want to be them?

Do you even want to be them?

We look up to our idols and think about the great accomplishments they’ve done

We think wow If only I could achieve half of what they’ve done, I’ll be a success, I’ll be happy…

But is that really true?

Elon Musk pops up a lot in my circle of conversations and yeah he’s achieved a lot,

But do you actually want to live like him, After watching/ reading several interviews from him, I don’t think he wants to be him sometimes…

Our idols have sacrificed so much to be and achieve all they have… We sometimes forget that We forget that our idols might not actually be happy…

Back to Musk in an interview, he said –

“There were times when I didn’t leave the factory for three or four days — days when I didn’t go outside,” he said. “This has really come at the expense of seeing my kids. And seeing friends.”

I want my businesses to be successful but are they a success if you have to sacrifice everything else in the process,

The point of this post is don’t base your happiness on achieving what your idols achieve, you don’t know what they have been through to get there and if you get there, How do you know you’re going to like it…
