It’s the job that’s never started as takes longest to finish.

It’s the job that’s never started as takes longest to finish.
— Sam Gamgee (LOTR)

There are the jobs we don’t want to do but have to, and The jobs we know we need to do but don’t…

Both of them we put off, We do whatever it takes to avoid them…

But for the most part, we’re still thinking about them, They plague our minds, We think about doing them, We think of stuff we can do to avoid doing them…

We do anything and everything, That just takes up all our time to not do them, We might as well of just done the thing we were avoiding.

After we’ve spent the whole day and all our energy and mental capacity avoiding it,

The work still needs to be done…

“Remember how long you’ve been putting this off, how many extensions the gods gave you, and you didn’t use them. At some point you have to recognize what world it is that you belong to; what power rules it and from what source you spring; that there is a limit to the time assigned to you, and if you don’t use it to free yourself it will be gone and will never return.” – Marcus Aurelius
