The flight had just landed,
After a 40 minute delay we were eager to get out of the airport and get to our hotel..
As we’re rushing to the exit, We’re faced with lots of downward slopes and those floor escalators…
The race was on…
Overtaking all the slow people, weving in and out of suitecases like mariokart airport edition…
we come off the second to last speed boost, round a corner and there was the finish line in sight…
With two speed boosts next to each other…
We’re now neck and neck
Staring at each other untill suddenly Robyn smirks…
I Glance forward to find a large group blocking my speed boost, like there on a leasierly cruise…
Robyn took the lead and I lost the race…
Why, Because I was too busy trying to win I didn’t plan ahead,
The large group would have been visible before I chose that lane but I wasn’t looking
And brought my progress to a standstill.
This happens all the time in life,
We’re to busy trying to get a result, trying to keep up with the Jones’s
We miss the obvious obstruction ahead…
Crash dieting – Rapid weight gain
Over training – Injury
Keeping up with the jones’s – Redunency, market crash, intrest rate raises…
The moral is to focus on your own lane, Check the details and plan for the long game…
Not the quick win
